Within easy reach of both, the town and visitor attractions such as Marakele National Park, Predator Centre and a golf course. Eco based, FGASA guided, tours to nearby Marakele National Park, Pilansberg and other local attractions are offered. Others to welcome you at Marula Cottage are the free roaming wildlife on the farm. Including kudu, klipspringer, bushbuck, porcupine, genet  -  to name some mountain dwellers. You can hike on 80 hectar and might have very special  sightings. The mountain behind Marula Cottage is untouched and invites people who appreciate pure bush.

   A birders home from home. Enjoy a Marula tree filled with birds from your patio. Amethyst Sunbirds, Paradise Fly-catchers, White-eyes and Weavers nest in the garden. Barbets, Oriols, Shrikes and Greenbuls are daily visitors too.

   Nearby, Marakele N.P. has the worlds largest colony of the vunerable Cape Vultures. It is also a great place to see Gurneys Sugarbirds, Buff-streaked Chat, Malachite Sunbirds and both Cape and Sentinel Rock-thrush.

    A short drive in the nieghbouring area should also be a delight for Raptor enthusiasts, as well as offering sighting of Yellow-throated Sandgrouse .
